BE ALERT. Try to avoid distractions.
Pay attention to what you are doing.
LOOK AND ANALYZE your
surroundings and beyond that. Looking is not enough,
you must observe and analyze traffic
conditions and everything that happens
around.
IDENTIFY
ANY POSSIBLE RISK OR DANGER. It
is better to be suspicious and
even evil-minded. If we assume
a possible risk we will be prepared to face it. After
all, it will only exist in our minds.
MAKE A DECISION ON WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF DANGER. If
we imagine the
risk, it will be easier to think
ahead of time about the best preventive or
corrective action. If we don’t do this ahead of time, maybe we
will not be ready to
make the most convenient decision when the time comes.
ACT TIMELY. This will be the rule of THUMB,
since it is much easier and will
ALWAYS give us time to avoid
risks and their consequences.
